Birthday: 10/08/2010
Breed: Yorkshire terrier
Date of Surgery: January 6, 2012
Product: CFX Nano Hip
Surgeons: Drs. Laurent P. Guiot and Charles E. DeCamp, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI
Referring Veterinarian: Curtis W. Probst, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI

Following a successful repair of a grade 3 patellar luxation, Meggie developed a severe Legg-Calve-Perthes lesion in her left hip. At the time of diagnosis in December 2011, she was non weight bearing on her left hind leg and had severe pain upon manipulation of her hip. Meticulous preoperative planning determined that Meggie would be a suitable candidate for a Nano Hip replacement and surgery was performed early January. She started using her leg the day after surgery and was returned to normal activity 8 weeks postoperatively. Six months later, she has full use of her leg with no apparent lameness and plays tug of war with her owner's granddaughter.
