“Anzu presented at one year old after being diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Her left hip underwent a total hip replacement on June 23, 2005, using the original BFX® cup and stem design. She recovered well and was able to walk without issue for 15 years! Throughout that time, she lead a happy life until she passed away from old age on July 3, 2020. Dr. Koreeda examined Anzu and found the artificial hip remained stable with no loosening or breakage. While the polyethylene showed slight wear, there were no clinical issues to report. Thanks to her THR, Anzu was able to walk without problems for 15 years following her procedure. Anzu’s family hopes her story will give other owners hope that their pets can be restored to full mobility and live long, happy lives!”
