“Chelsea was very active in her youth, but by 9 years of age, had sustained multiple injuries, including a fracture to her right thoracic limb as well as bilateral TPLOs. It was clear her back right leg was her biggest challenge; it was atrophied, had little muscle definition, and arthritis in the knee had made it twice its size. Rather than treat with anti-inflammatories and pain medication, Chelsea’s owner decided on total knee replacement to address her pain and chronic lameness. She was taken to Dr. Guiot for a total knee replacement on her right knee. Chelsea’s owner reports that the difference in her mobility has been significant! After a matter of weeks, Chelsea was able to offload her chronic thoracic limb lameness and bear-weight on her surgery leg. Today she has her muscle tone back, is running after tennis balls, playing with other dogs, and jumping onto the couch all by herself!”
