“Alfie was initially referred for left hind lameness and a cranial cruciate rupture was confirmed arthroscopically. A Slocum TPLO was performed using the short 3.5 mm curved plate; ideally suited for dogs such as Alfie with a relatively small tibia relative to bodyweight (31 kg in Alfie’s case). Lameness was soon also detected on Alfie’s opposite side which resulted in a second TPLO. Alfie’s family reports he is walking tremendously well and is back to his happy, adventurous self!”
