“Porter presented to Country Companions Veterinary Services where he was seen for a broken leg after being knocked over by another sheep. Unable to pay for the procedure himself, the farmer gave Porter to Megan Pereira, a Vet Technician and Co-Founder of the Road to Refuge Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit based out of North Haven, CT. To ensure the best surgical solution, Porter was taken to Tufts University where an I-Loc Nail was used to repair a compound fracture of his humerus. Just two days post-op, Porter was able to walk again! Following several weeks of stall rest, this spunky little sheep is slowly being given more freedom to roam. Ms. Pereira reports Porter, the animal-cracker-loving, three-month-old ‘wild man,’ is a completely different sheep now – thanks to Dr. Karlin and the I-Loc.”
