“Choppa was around 6-7 months of age when the owners reported that he was crying when he stood up and after exercise. He was also crying at night because his hips were so painful. His local veterinarian, Dr. Phillips, assessed and referred him to Dr. Levien for a total hip replacement. Choppa’s left hip was replaced when he was 9 months old. He has since stopped crying and his left leg has become his stronger hind leg. There are plans for his right hip to be replaced in the next twelve months.”
